FS: Acer Ferrari 4005 WLMI w/ Accessories

I originally ordered my Acer Ferrari 4005WLMi on 6/21/05 from newegg.com. It has been an excellant laptop, but it hasn't left my desk in about 2 months, so I figure a gaming desktop would be better for me right now.

The laptop is literally in essentially perfect shape. I'm a network administrator and programmer, so I always take great care of my computer equipment. The only thing that would make this different from one right out of the box is that I've removed the annoying Turion, Windows, and ATi stickers from the palm rest area. There is no gummy goo or stickyness there. It will come in all the original packaging along with all its software and the bluetooth mouse.

Along with the laptop itself, I've got some nice accessories going along with it.
1) Acer ezDock docking station - $289.05 new from CDW.
2) Custom sized screen protector from ShaggyMac. It is panther black and sized to fit perfectly yet allowing the latches to click perfectly. $15.95 new.
3) WaterField Designs sleeve case with Horizontal Orientation , Ballistic Flap, Size 31, Drings and Strap. $74 new.
4) Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS I picked up at Best Buy for $99.99.

For all this stuff, I'm looking for right around $2,000. I wil not accept any trades. I live in Milwaukee, WI and would be willing to meet anyone in the area. I head down to Chicago once every couple months, so depending on timing I could possibly meet down there as well.

As far as payment, I would prefer Paypall or some sort of escrow so that neither of us can get screwed.

You can contact me through these forums, or you can email me at dsoref(AT)wi.rr.com, which is a Road Runner account and should be traceable. I can give you my phone number upon request.

If you've got any other questions or comments, feel free to post.

I will be borrowing a friend's digital camera tommorow, and will be posting images of everything included.

Thanks,

Daniel Soref

Edit: I forgot to mention, there are no dead or stuck pixels on the display.

Well, response has been pretty slow. I'll probably move on to ebay soon, but I will also sell just the laptop itself for $1,750 or so. Once that goes, I'll sell everything else individually. I would also consider selling the EZDock right away if it's a decent offer.

Message me if you'd like to make an offer.

(Thanks newegg.com )

My screen has literally no dead or stuck pixels.
The fan is almost always on, but is very quiet. I can't hear it at all above my A/C.
Performance is pretty sweet for a notebook of this size. The general concensus is that this is about the best notebook in this weight range. The XPS2 and the Sagar 9880's are very sweet, but are pretty heavy and generate a lot of heat. Not knocking them, as I almost bought one of those.
Rather than be a jerk and picking out my favorite positive reviews, I'll let you make your own judgements. There's a ton of reviews over in the Acer forums here, just make sure you are checking out this model (4005WLMI) and not the slower version that just came out.

Best of luck whatever way you go.

It's tempting, but I'm real picky Planning on an Athlon 64 X2.

Plus, I don't want a "crappy case"

Thanks anyway though!

BTW, I mentioned what I wanted in my first post so people would understand why I'm trying to get rid of such an awesome laptop

Take care!

hey, I am really interested in your laptop, but i have some questions regarding the screen. Its not the glare type like sony's xbrite or dell's truelife, is it? And it also comes with DDR400 ram instead of DDR2-533, am i right?

By the way, I already have an Audigy 2XS external sound card, so without your ZS, how much would u sell it for/would u sell it at all?
