Req: mod for Modular battery

I know this is a Difficult if not stupid question. But i have a Dare ! For all you modders out there

Mod a Dell battery so the inspiron 6000 d can have a modular battery ! Its probably not possible, so dont flame me hehe. Im tired and bored. On my break at work, so figured id start a convo on the forums

The system board of the I6000 lacks the battery connector interface in the modular slot. So even if you found a battery that would fit in place of the CD/DVD, it wouldn't be able to function without the necessary connector.

If you were able to put a battery in the optical drive bay, you might be able to run a cord around the laptop and plug it in the back, unless you want to mod the case of the 6000 itself. Probably be cheaper and easier just to carry an extra battery. You aren't the only one who's asked this question before.

aye the cord is what i was talking about, but i dont wanna carry another battery hehe stupid dell designer !!! every lappy should have a modular bay battery option

Most mod ideas die very fast no matter how practical or seemingly easy they maybe to do. Including this one. I remember a discussion of using a media bay travel tray to hold AA batteries, soldering them together and running a cord to the back. It died FAST. This was for the 700m, not that it matters. It can't be done.
