Hi Again,
Last post I hard driver issues happy to say finally got them all installed and updated an for the last 3 weeks everything has been good. Until 3 days ago!
Was on-line and the comp. froze completely, had to turn it off couldn't do anything. When I tried to restart it just gave me a plank screen - after pressing f1 then trying delete - every button -no luck restarted 3-4 times with nothing. Put in a cd then took it out held the windows button and finally came on. Worked okay for 2 days after that. Shut down after playing EQ2 lastnight and went to start it up this morning and blank screen again and no luck can't get it to do anything. I don't have a recovery cd so thats out and the windows cd is a no go it won't read anything. I did notice my hibernate button is blinking (did that last time also) but then sometimes no, so no clue. I'm not computer savy like you guys. More like a first grader here.
Hope someone can help.

Tried external monitor this morning no go! When i turn on the laptop just the power button lights up none of the other lights come on - one blue light will blink above the f7 key but nothing else - tried booting from windows xp cd, also nothing, any other suggestions? Is there anyone on here who repairs them? I'm willing to try anything at this point.

There's no published fix for this that I've found other than to call your laptop manufacturer and send it in for repair. Sager told me to send it in as soon as I had finished describing the problem and offered me no explanation as to the cause. My assumption is there is no user initiated fix for this other than that phone call to support. Mine goes back on Thursday.

Should have noted that mine is a Sager 9860 and I have posted this issue there too along with several others but they are all the same underlying laptop.

i'm having the exact same problem i called alienware and they told me it was a video card problem. they sent me a new one, i installed it but the problem persisted, the computer wouldn't turn on. sometimes i'm able to turn it on, but it just lasts a few hours before it freezes and refuses to turn on again. i'm sure this is not an overheating problem, cause i'm constantly monitoring the temp, and when it freezes its never above 62 celsius degrees. i guess i'll have to send it to aw
