HORRIBLE Sony Xbrite Mishap

A friend of a friend of mine was using my sony laptop. He wasn't very smart and kept poking the screen with his fingers... even this thumb. He had fingernails. Now the wax covering that protects the screen and keeps it clear is gone, and there are blemishes the size of quarters all over. The most annoying one is in the center. Is there any way to fix this?! When I see it it drives me completely insane. Thanks for any help!

I don't exaclty know how your friend removed the coating(and i am sorry i can't help) but i think you need to have your friend or his friend pay for its replacement.

Are you sure the wax covering is gone? It might be just a fingerprint mark on the screen.... try an LCD cleaning fluid with microfibre cloth to clean it up.

Those are probably fingerprints. You have to intentially break the screen to actually damage it with your fingers alone. If it is in fact broken, you should go have a talk with this guy.

The Wax IS Gone

The wax is actually off. I have had many sony monitors, but have never suceeded in having the wax actually rubbed off. I think the part with the wax off gets scratched much more easily. Is there any way to re-apply the wax?

take a very soft cloth, put some isopropyl on it and gently wipe and see if the marks go away.
