do you mean that you leave it on all the time? or just plugged in??
Check in your power settings and see if you can adjust that speed step feature that throttles down your processor, or maybe in the bios?? Just remember that this feature isnt just for saving battery power, its also to keep your system cool, I dont recommend using your processor full throttle all the time, its perfectly capable of throttling up when you need it. Do you have any idea how often your processor sits there and does alot of nothing while waiting for input? Do you really want it running full speed while its doing that?

Set your power properties to Home/Office. When the system is plugged in it will run at full speed all the time.
