Title says it, i find it lags so much its not even worth using when on battery power, when plugged in i plug in my M$ USB mouse anyway.

My best guess would be that it is doubtfull that there is anything that can be done.

It's most likely a limitation of the mouse itself as opposed to the B.T. sub-system. Especially considering it's marvelous battery life.

I'm half tempted and delusioned into taking mine apart in the hopes of finding some hidden turbo switch or something.

Why about trying better battries instead of the ones that came with it? Any diffrence? Just don't plug it in to charge it though

I guess i could try that cause iv'e heard the battery strength plays a role

Im also tempted to find a wired usb mouse with identical shape and snap on the Ferrari cover on my wired mouse, cause it really is nice looking and i really like the top rubber feel.

I find that my Bluetooth mouse lags a lot less if I plug in the USB charging cable. (Might also be what you mean by "on battery power"). But that removes the "wireless" bluetooth feeling from it

I personally found no difference between the supplied 1.2 volt rechargable batteries and a set of alkaline 1.5 volt batteries.

Yes, I have the Logitech Bluetooth MX900 mouse, and it was slow when using the internal bluetooth radio. I fixed the problem by installing the newest BTW software... v4xx. These laptops have the WIDCOMM/Broadcom Blutonium 2035 radio. Just about the best on the market, but the problem lies with the default MS drivers. So just install the new drivers, reboot, and crank on your mouse settings!

It may be that the mouse it came with is junk, or it may be the drivers, but you'll never know til you try.

where did you get these drivers?

I tried the driver but it doesn't seem to help the hesitation.

I think that under battery the mouse goes into sleep mode almost instantly. They should have had a longer wait before the sleep mode.

I have also noticed that the mouse is "sticky" and you need to move it a bit to get it's attention!!! I tested it across the room and it still performed the same so I believe that the wireless part of the mouse is working properly. My conclusion is that the optical sensor is not too good at detecting motion. I also noticed that different mouse pads make a tiny difference in performance, but not enough to say it is 100%. I plan on contacting Acer and see what they say. Has anyone done this?

Cheers

Yeah like has been said I think it does just go to sleep to early. If you watch the LED you can tell it goes into low power mode right after you stop moving the mouse and it takes a moment for it to get out of it.

I swapped batteries with my m$ bt mouse and the standard batteries don't help the ferrari mouse and the rechargeable don't harm the m$ one. The m$ one works fine (but doesn't look a like a good fit obviously) so it isn't driver or mouse pad problem... the ferrari mouse just seems horrible, even "plugged in"... I'm wondering if mine is defective and maybe I should contact acer... let me know how it goes for you ?

thx

Does the new Ferrari 4002 model come with the exact same model mouse that comes with the 4005? Since virtually all of us have found the mouse to be useless and put it away somewhere I'm amazed that Acer would still be selling it.

I've had my 4005 for 3 months and, so far, the Ferrari seems to be a very solid, well built machine. So how does "quality control" or whoever makes design decisions let this mouse get out the door in the first place? Even if they only did five minutes testing they had to have known that the mouse was crap before they ever sold the first 4005. And I would imagine that there have probably been large numbers of calls coming into Acer support about it. If they knew it didn't work then why bother including it?

And it's really strange if they are continuing to include the same mouse on a second model!

I don't really care about the mouse. Haven't tried to use it since early July. But it makes me wonder about how Acer sees its customers and the quality of its products.

I should be able to tell you that in a week when my 4002 gets here.

I have seen the bluetooth light always blinking whether laptop is off. Please tell me I have to remove the batteries when not using or there is any button to switch off.
