ok guys i just got my i6000d and i was pretty disappointed that it wont play BF2 and upscale games like that, so i need to know if i can replace the video card and if i need like a laptop specific card, or if anyone will work? like i said, im a total lap top noob. also i've installed video cards on desktops, but never on a laptop, is it pretty easy?

The X300 both 64mb and 128mb will run BF2 decently. The video card upgrading is in fact very easy but first Dell will have to come up with a video card supported by the 6000d's BIOS
Hope this helps

so are you saying i cant upgrade the card? is there any way to make the one that came with the computer work?

by the way, i have the intel 915 with a whopping 64mb of memory

Why didn't you just get a i9300 if you wanted to game?

if you have the intel 915 you didn't get a 6000D. I've played BF2 the last 2 weeks on my 6000D 128mb without any problems. Ran out and bought a joystick last night and flew planes and helos all night!

Well if it's of any consolation, you'll be able to run Quake 3 just fine w/ the integrated

Btw I was able to get Doom3 to run decently well last night w/ my overclock and Omega 5.8 in my sig. Had a TON of tearing when moving head left to right, but other than that it was actually bearable, not like I was watching a slide show. Let the game choose my settings cause it getting very late last night, might have to go in and tweak it some more and turn vsync on.

yes, if you do in fact have the x300, you should be able to play bf2 fine. Right now mine is set to 1600 x whatever with a mix of low and medium settings, and it looks and runs fine.

If you got the x300 version, yes the video card is upgradeable. If you got the GMA900 version, the video card is not in fact upgradeable
