I hate laptops...I love laptops...

I was all set on the Athlon 64 laptop from Hypersonic, the AX6, when I made the cardinal mistake of looking up Sager's new 8790. The AX6 looks terrific, with the lone drawback of it not having any upgradeability to it. The 8790's components are phenomenal (ATI M11, Prescott) and the processor IS upgradeable. So, the eternal dilemma grips me...the AX6 or wait a couple of months for the 8790?

I hate laptops...I love laptops...

I keep trying to tell people that the 5680/8890 perform as well on most things, better on all content creation etc , and slightly worse on a few games. Wait if you can wait - buy now if you need/want a new laptop. Its the eternal dilema

js you actually think sager will launch that new top in a matter of months? LAFF

not to be rude or anything, but dont count on that bad boy coming out anytime soon, probably look at around late 2004 if not 2005 at the earliest i suspect. Everything in technology gets delayed.

2005? What you been smokin'?

The only delay I can forsee is in ATI getting the M11 out, but really if Sager say its going to be a few months, then it's certainly going to be less than a year. Besides that, the 8790 uses 478 P4s, by 2005 it's unlikely they'll even exist.

well..can some1 link me to a press release or news by ati launching a new 256meg mobile video card? if so that'd be a great help..seeing how this new video card is supposed to be out..next month? i aint heard a damn word of it...

i guess we'll just have to wait and see...
