Prices should be up next week.

I don't get what this is supposed to accomplish with the 3880 already existing? Besides the different choice for the graphics card, where is this an upgrade or improvement?
thanks

There is an x800 mobile out already, and given the x700 is the highest card listed I will assume it is the fastest card available for this notebook.

Anyone know why the PCMCIA and some USB ports are on the right side of the machine and the CD/DVD device on the left? Is this machine made for left-handed folks specifically? Nice looking machine with good stats, but having a number of accessories plugged into the right side of the machine with a real mouse attached is going to be rather unpleasant.

I noticed there is a Toshiba model with the same layout: Perhaps they are assuming that owners of the machine only use the mouse pad. If you do, you probably die _alot_ whilst gaming?

Inquiring minds gotta know, so thanks for any informative feedback on this issue.

so will this lappy be able to handle the x800 and any other future card updates?

I would assume not based on his answer to that question. Maybe the next generation of cards may have a solution that fits in this notebook but it looks like x800 is a no-go.

Typically next generation GPUs do not require less power and produce less heat. Odds are this notebook will only ever use the x700.

I wish this laptop had come out 3 months ago. I would have definitely went with it over my Asus Z71V, since this laptop does look like it is designed a little better in the port placement. Especially the placement of the Kensington lockhole. I can't use 2 of my usb ports when I keep my laptop locked up right now

Oh well, I am still satisfied with my Z71V.

This is exactly what I was waiting for. I wanted 1920x1200 rez since I would be mainly using it with some dev IDE's, but also wanted modular cd drive battery so I could hot swap the main battery. I hope it has long enough battery life with both. Im reaching for that 6 hour mark.

How does the screen on this notebook compare to the screen on the Asus z70Va? I'm going to be purchasing a new notebook soon and display quality is of the highest importance. Everything else (memory, battery, video) seems pretty much the same as the Asus, so for me, it comes down to the screen.

Could someone tell me if I can boot from the hard drive in the modular bay?

Also, how easy/fast is it to swap the HDD in/out of the bay?

Thanks!

Any idea what the battery life will be on this? Upwards on 4 hours for the 8 cell?
