It does not look like a RAID controller was included in this notebook.

This is a shame. The only reason I bought my 4880 over some of the competition that had 15.4 inch screens, was that I simply did not want anything larger than a 15." Now that a number of other people I know are interested in 488x notebooks, despite the fact that mine was built quite poorly, sager switches toa 15.4 inch profile right under our noses . I am sick of this trend of making powerfull notebooks larger and larger. There is a desktop replacement market, however, I am not intersted in it. I want the most powerfull laptop I can buy, and anything over 15" really isnt mobile for me.

a 15.4 is a widescreen , i think it is only as tall as a 14 inch, just built wider. a 17 inch wide screen is a widened 15 inch screen. notice how there are no regular 4:3 17 inchers? also, that new laptop looks like a 4:3 screen , it doesnt look widescreen. luke, are you SURE that's widescreen? maybe the specs they sent are wrong/typo

Is this as fast or faster than the 4881? In terms of like the gpu's stock clocks?

Sager 5320 Now up for sale!
When can we expect the review?
Great! Do you have one in the shop yet? How is the screen? I'm assuming it runs like the 4881-V, it has very similar specs. How is the 'Duo Digital/Analog TV Tuner w/ remote'? Any word on the shipment date? Possibly rebates?
yeah, i am also waiting for a review before i make a purchase decision
post #33 of 99
I've been switching between purchasing the 3880 and the 488x, this might make my decision. However, the 12 cell battery on the 3880 still is very appealing wih the battery life being insane for that screen size.

The other drawback from what I hear on the 488x was the screen. It apparently didn't have good viewing angles...any word yet on the screen of the 5320?

Just to let you all know prices are up at PCTorque.com for the 5320.

Does PCTorque have the option for dual battery in their configuration? THey allow you to purchase a spare Smart Li-Ion battery, but often the modular 2nd batter and core primary battery are not the same. Are they so here?

We were waiting to put that option up until we could get an ETA on it, the dual battery option will not be available until mid Oct.

ah pooee. You dont happen to know when clevo plans to put out an AMD version of this chasis? It appears they generally release the intel model first, then follow up with AMD a bit later, with mostly the same specs.

I haven't heard a peek about an AMD version of this... i think they are still busy with the D900K.

Awww shucks :-( that stinks. The laptop is so promising and perfect, except i really dont wanna bite that bullet heh.

I know its nearly moot point, but from your extrapolation, do you think they may work on one? Despite their not speaking of it yet?
