hey i am looking to upgrade my graphics cpu which mean i have to get a new motherboard... is this correct if soo where can i get a laptop motherboard that has an amd slot with like an nvidia geforce go 6600 or 6800? is this even possible.

not possible... laptop motherboards aren't really interchangeable between cases, if the new chip produces more heat the thermal design of the case my not work and it probably just wouldn't fit. Some manufacturers do offer this, such as Sager for their desktop replacement you need them to switch out motherboards to use a 6800ultra on some older models of the 9800 series... but they do it, its not a DIY project.

But if you're talking about, "hey I want to upgrade my HP, Compaq, Toshiba"... then your SOL.

Yeah, you can't.... they are proprietary as well, I believe.

You would think someone would come up with a notebook form factor. I don't see what the problem would be if manufacture's made parts to fit certain specs. DIY desktops have their own heat issues and people work those out just fine. Anyone making their own notebook should be able to figure out how to deal with proper airflow
