XG laptops, any good? XG Action 6000 - Page 2

That laptop seems decent. I like AMD and all, (I prefer them in my desktop purchases) but at this moment in time, they lack the dual core capability and from what I have heard even the dual core Turions are not going to compete all that much with the meroms... so I don't know. The x1600 should run really well. I take it you are looking at that MSI notebook that is comparable to the S96J and Hel80... before you buy it, I would make sure to check out the Compal Hel80 and the Asus S96J, but if you will be happy with the Turion, by all means go with it. It should be pretty good for you.

I bought an MS-1029 fron Buyxg labeled as Action 6000. If you want or need tech support from them, good luck! Mine is falling apart. Three of the rubber feet have fallen off. The headphone jack some how fell out of the front of the laptop. Now, the power button is broke, and I have to leave it running 24/7 if I want to even use it occasionally. Now, my gripe isn't with Buyxg for selling inferior made products. It's that they have never replied to the numerous e-mails I've sent for tech support. With my job, I'm not home in time to call, so the only chance I have of contact with them is through e-mail. The sad part is, I only bought the laptop in February of this year.

pnut... emailing is a lost cause. you have to call. i say this as a former ibuypower and cyberpower customer. they did not sell you an inferior product...you just got a lemon. MSI makes really solid systems....msi made it, not xg, so you can't blame xg.
