Darn it!!1 You beat me to it by ~.00001 seconds!

EDIT: Well, it doesn't show it in the slides, but it's pretty much confirmed that the 7800Go GTX will have 16 pipes. The desktop 7800GT has 20 pipes, is clocked at 400/500 and gets 7210 in 3Dmark05, while the 7800Go GTX is higher at 400/550 but gets 6640 in 3Dmark05.

Just for comparison:

GeForce 7800 GT 3DMark05 at 400/500

Just have patience. All questions will be answered Sept 29th.

Don't count out ATi. They're finally ramping up to they're high-end R520XT, with the R515, R530, and mid-range R520XL and Pro already in volume and in the AIBs hands waiting for the NDA to expire.

I could easily see ATi sticking a 16-pipe R520XL or R520Pro chip in a notebook very soon, especially since they are on a 90nm low-k chip process (very good for notebooks).

So I wonder, should I cancel my 9300 order with the 6800 and wait for the 7800?

Just wait as long as you can, then buy what you can afford.

You'd have to ask Dell. Don't see why not, although they'd almost certainly put it in the XPS2 first.

Nah ATi isn't finished, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose some of the ground they've gained on nVidia in the last couple years.
