My 9300 does the same thing....Every 5 seconds or so, it jumps...the sound stays ok but the video skips....
DMA is enabled, VMR is enabled, tried several different media players...and still no luck, it is driving me mad!!
I too am having this same problem. I was using the latest Xtreme drivers and tried reverting to the standard drivers from laptop2go. No noticable difference.
I have tried with DMA enabled, VMR enabled, many different players (although PowerDVD is my main choice.), and it skips no matter what. The only thing that made a slight difference was turning on hardware acceleration in PowerDVD. Although it seemed better, it still skipped. (Video skips not audio)
What else can I try?? Is it possible a newer bios (I think I have A04 now) would help? How about Firmware for any of my stuff. I have the TSSCorp DVD drive.
Thanks for any help guys, I have searched this forum over and over for "dvd Choppy playback" and found a few things that seemed like they should have fixed it, but nothing yet.
