Does your 9300 screen turn off when you close the lid?

Hey, isnt the screen suppose to turn off when you close the lid on the 9300? For some reason mine does not. Can anyone tell me how to enable this power saving feature.... thanks!
Mine does, I do not know why? In fact, it goes into standby, check your power settings in the Control Panel.

Mine does as well, but that's because I have it set to hibernate when the lid closes.

yes my screen turns off.

my screen turns off but if I push one of the media buttons on the front it turns back on and stays on until i open and close the lid again!

I called tech support and talked with a guy for an hour and he said that they have never heard of the problem before and I told him that it is happening on 2 other freinds laptops as well (it really is) and he said it might be something they overlooked when designing the laptop and he would report it so that the problem might be fixed in the next bios update... so whenever A05 bios comes out i'll know if they fixed the problem or not...

I have the A04 bios, and as far as I can tell, they fixed it.
Sorry, they still seem to have fixed it.

so is there any way to get the lcd to turn off when i close the lid without my pc going into standby or hibernation?
Larry: Nah, i9300, A04 bios, any input will turn the LCD back on until you open the lid. That issue isn't "fixed". Of course, if you don't have an external mouse to provide input, and if you don't hit your front panel media buttons, it works fine.

Open the power options properties. In the Hibernate tab, uncheck "enable hibernation". In the Advanced tab, in the "power buttons" section, pull down the "Do nothing" option for the "When I close teh lid of my portable computer:" question. Apply, OK. You're all set.

Hope this helped,
K

Make sure you don't use any bluetooth devices when your screen's shut (ie. mice, cell phones, etc.) Using them will wake up the screen.

My screen doesn't come on when I hit a button while it's closed. I've got it set to turn off screen when it's closed.

My screen turns off and goes into Standby. By opening the lid, it automatically comes back on.
