AGP enable?

hi

i have a laptop here's the specs:

win xp pro
ati radeon 9700 128 (m)
3.2ghz p4
1gb ram

(sorry for the lack of detail)

i am using the latest omega drivers for my card, but on the SMARTGART tab it says my AGP setting is: Off, i set it to 4x, and it asks me to restart so i do...and i come back to desktop and its back to off, i tried 8x also...how can i get AGP To stay enabled?


also, does anyone know if theres a way to get the 9700 to use 8-bit palletted textures? (an old game im trying to play)

do this in your BIOS upon booting your computer.
