Problems w/ F-4005 and x64

OK. I installed Win x64 and Mobility Modder can't mod ATI Catalyst 5.8 (x64 version) to install in the nb, so I'm with Acer's drivers. There is any other options? Stock driver s***s.
The ePower Management don't install.
I can't get Broadcom WLAN driver installed (the one supplied by Acer), just don't run. The orange WLAN button don't turn on.
Any other known issues?
Thanks,
Guilherme

You can get the Mobility Modder for x64 Beta here
The Broadcomm driver is fine but the thing is you need to install Launch Manager first before you can use your WiFi.
Don't forget to get the latest x64 driver for your soundcard from Realtek web site cause the one supplied by Acer is crap.

It would be great if you can be kind enough to write us a guide, since you are one of the pioneers.

Well thanks i think i might do that when i'm a little bit more free this weekend.

Zanzida,
Did you install Acer Empowering Technology?
If so, did you install ePower Management? I can't install it, does not work.
I have now only 1 app to go, I mean, all my applications and software are running, except one.
There any kind of emulator or something for old apps?
Thanks,
Guilherme

@guilherme:

No I don't use ePower Management because Acer has not released ePower Management software for x64 and we can't use the win32 version.
General rule is you don't need any emulator to run 32-bit Apps unless it required access to low level (ring 0) drivers (Anti-viruses, firewalls, Disk emulators etc).
You need to get an emulator (eg: DosBox) to run 16-bit apps though since Windows x64 does not support 16 bit.

Zanzida,
Thanks. My AMD PowerNow! Dashboard is reading my CPU ranging from 40% (800Mhz) to 100% (2.0Ghz), but CPUID is saying it is at 2 Ghz all the time. My power scheme is at Laptop/Portable so Windows Power Management should be on. Any thing like that?

I don't recall if i had this issue when i was running CPUID, but if you do then i suggest you to try installing the latest Turion processor driver from AMD site first. If the issue still persists then try adding /USEPMTIMER in your boot.ini.
You can read here for details.

You can also run RMClock 1.7.
It has support for x64 now which is nice and thats why i am no longer running CPUID since i always prefer RMClock due to less resource consumption.

I installed RMClock 1.7 and, funny, CPU Core Clock is reading 2.000 Mhz, but VID is at 1.000V, therefore it is NOT at 2Ghz, right?
I did install latest AMD Turion Driver witch is 5.2.3790.1830. Is that is version?
I'm getting better battery file with x64. Good. I had at least 30 mim increase in batt life.
Thanks,
Guilherme

I found a new app at AMD named AMD Clock Version 2.0.0 that finally works. It is reading CPU Clock correctly.

@!4#!, this x64 is giving me headache.
1. Can't format my Micro Vault USB 2.0, system recognizes it as a removable storage, but when I try to use it, it asks for format, then Windows says it can't format. Couldn't find anything over internet...
2. Can't add a network printer. When I try to install it, it says that tehre isn't correct drivers.
3. Can't run some applications as AMD Power Monitor as it says POWRPROF.DLL (Power Profile Helper) was not found and it is there. Try to replace the DLL but don't know how to get it extracted for Windows x64 CD.
4. Can't run my Trend Micro anti-virus.
5. Can't get a x64 Firewall Client.
Damn... but I will keep trying.
Anyone can help?
Guilherme

to be honest those aren't new.the dates are just when the person uplaoded them to that site.

example the broadcom wifi driver is old (version.46), I currently have .64 installed.

Thanks for clearing that up Asniper.

I was bit leery of the files since they are not being hosted on an Acer site.
