Hey guys, I got a new computer! a big jump from my old one that you guys saw in my old signature. My brother came home for Thanksgiving, and we started right away. I had ordered the Antec Sonata case from newegg.com before, so we had it. I got a new motherboard, NF7 Series, and a new processor, an AMD Thoroughbred 2100+, which is amazingly fast (to me.)
When we were putting it together, we had some trouble with the PCI video card, which is a Geforce2MX400 64mb. We drove 40 miles to COMPUSA, and picked up an ATI RadeonSE 9600 128 megabytes. I haven't had time to test it, but its supposed to be ubernarly. So, we get back home, and put that card in, and we have the same problem. There is 2 long beeps. So, we go to my friends house, look it up on the internet, and realize that it is the RAM. So we go to Staples, and pick up 256MB DDR Ram. It was 80 bucks, and a ripoff, but we got it anyway. So we install that, turn the computer on, go to the BIOS, and it doesnt detect that we have any harddrives! Yay, another problem! So my bro messes around, connecting and reconnecting things, and it finally works. Now I'm on it, and all we have installed so far is updates and ATI Drivers. I'm downloading Counter-Strike right now. See the full specs in my signature.
The harddrive, DVD-ROM drive, and CD-RW drive are the same, we are going to upgrade when we get enough money
