This won't help you (unless you happen to be a fed. employee), but it might help others.. I just received an e-mail from my work in Texas about a discount for every federal employee (civilian and military). The discount is a part of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and the amount depends on your carrier. Mine is Sprint, so I get 15% off and I know Cingular is 19% off. The company won't tell you about it, but if you bring it up to them then they'll do it. If anybody else wants to know another carrier's discount I can tell them.
Sorry I can't help you on the phone, I have a Samsung flip phone that's nothing special, but works fine for me..
I was thinking about this last night and started to worry it might be a scam, so I Googled it this morning and it's not exactly correct. They will offer discounts to military and from what I read they offer discounts to quite a few employees of large corporations and various other groups, however there is no law saying they have to. So, I think it would be best to ask if they offer any discounts for whatever your situation is (where you work and live, your age, sex, religious and political stance and anything else that might get you a discount..
