Which mouse do u use?

Thread Starter
Well currently I'm using the crappy free optical Dell mouse I got with my I9300 cos my MX1000 is plugged into my desktop. However I'm very interested in Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse or Logitech V400 Cordless Notebook Mouse. More so for the V400 because it has forward and back buttons. Has anyone bought these mouses yet? If so, how are they and how long do the batteries last for?

i havent tried those mice u listed besides the mx1000 which i also have hooked to my desktop, but i love my little Kensington PilotMouse Mini Bluetooth. works great and i still havent changed the batteries in it since i got it. main reason i got it is because i dont like things sticking out of my usb ports cause my last notebook got screwed up cause something was sticking out of the side and it ruined 1 usb port. so i dont think i will stray from bluetooth now that i have tried it. but i do suggest this mouse.

Logitech MX510

I am picking up the V400 as soon as it comes out in retail. No question. A friend of mine has the V500, but it doesn't have a scroll wheel, only the pad thing. It works well for webpages and stuff but if you're playing any games at all it's tough to use. Also, you lose the functionality of the wheel button. The V400 is laser as well so it should track really well.

I have the V500. I think it is great. Its very sensitive and the battery life is very good. I have not changed the battery yet (purchased in I think January). I only moderately use the mouse (3-4 times per week @ 1-4hrs per).

I would definitely recommend the v500. I have not seen the v400 but if it has the back/forward buttons, you may want to go with that. I find those buttons very important.

i have the mx310.
It has the scroll wheel with the back and forward buttons and some button on top of the scroll wheel that has a pic of 3 folders lol.
Yea the back and forward buttons are really what make it a great mouse.
It's great in games too since you have more buttons on your mouse.

Only bad thing about the mouse is that my left-mouse button is indented more than my right-mouse button since I game so much with it lol.

That mouse was one of the biggest disasters by logitech. Its very heavy weight - around 6 oz. (170 grams) - made it too heavy for action games and even for photo editing. Its resolution topped out at 800 dpi, which made it a little less lively than the competition, even Logitech's own MX 518 or the Razer Diamondback. For certain gamers who lift their mouse at the end of its course and put it back down in the center, an annoying lag was perceptible. And finally, the laser went into sleep mode too soon and caused latency at the worst possible times in FPS games.

I personally use a Mx518.

That Dongle can even crack the MainBoard if it is struck, internal Bluetooth is best. Logitech should soon have a new Bluetooth Laser version.

For portability, make sure it can run on the internal Bluetooth (without need of the Console/Charger or Keyboard).

I Love my IntelliMouse (past six weeks on the "sixmonth" Energizer) and it does fine on the ALPS Drivers from Dell.
But due to the Non-Clicking smooth scroll wheel, it's no good for games.

Good general information on Tom's Hardware and this page has a "Mouse Rate Checker" (8kb utility) to tell the speed of your Mouse, TouchPad or Stick.

I wouldn't call currently the best wireless mouse available a disaster. Its not too heavy for action games. You just have to get used to the added weight and i actually prefer the added weight now. It gives a better feel in your hand instead of a light little mouse that flys all over the place. I have an MX518 as well and i prefer to use the MX1000. 800 dpi is the same as the MX510 and thats a mouse that a large portion of people use for gaming today. The higher dpi of the MX518 is nice though for certain things. I havn't had a problem with mine going into sleep mode too soon and that affecting my gaming ability. I'm not a hardcore fps player but i play my share of games and the average user isn't going to have any problems with gaming. It has more buttons and functions then the MX518 so it makes it a better all-around mouse for alot of tasks, especially web browseing. And did i mention its wireless?
