Logitech seems to be updating their mice and the MX900 is not listed on their site anymore. I have no specific info on an upgrade. I’m just assuming, since the new v270 has a higher DPI than the current MX900.

Just using various MS wired optical mice, they all work great so I've not seen any reason to upgrade. I did buy a newer MS mouse but I hate the new wheel, it's useless for gaming otherwise I would have bought their little optical wireless mouse, it looks great.

This site is still up for the MX900 The main problem I saw with this mouse was the large USB + AC powered Bluetooth Receiving and charging "Cradle" that I did not need or want, would be great on a desktop (these are really cheap on eBay now)

Here is the site for the new V270 This one looks a lot better and uses your installed Bluetooth, not as 'molded' for your right hand as the MX900 and wish it had fwd/bck buttons, but this looks like an ideal portable Bluetooth Mouse from Logitech. (take note that it works on Widcomm Stack/Drivers (or the MS Stack)and if you have the TM350 (Toshiba Stack) you may need to use your Windows XP sp2 Bluetooth Stack (too easy to switch)

If you explorer further into Logitech, they now have a Bluetooth Keyboard/Laser Mouse package that will need the keyboard for the Mouse to work. This is the first Laser ("All Terrain") Mouse for Bluetooth and perhaps it could be installed as a 'HID' with your internal Bluetooth (as I think some have been able to do with the MX900).

Here is the he smart desktop that combines an LCD keyboard display, a high-speed Bluetooth® wireless hub with SecureConnect™ technology, the precision of a MX™ Laser mouse

For certain gamers who lift their mouse at the end of its course and put it back down in the center, an annoying lag was perceptible. And finally, the laser went into sleep mode too soon and caused latency at the worst possible times in FPS games.

I personally use a Mx518.
wow that was pretty arrogant! i have absolutely no problems like what you described and i have owned 2 mx1000's. the mouse is NOT too heavy, i still cannot stand that statement, dont say something like that as if its a fact, when its a actually a preference thing. i like some weight to my mice, and this one is perfect. if you need to pick-up your mouse that much, maybe u need to get a new mousepad thats a little bigger.

My IntelliMouse weighs in at 160gm (5.5 oz.) and that feels just about perfect to me.

Performance may vary with Bluetooth Stack and others have said that the MS IntelliMouse is faster on Widcomm Stack than on MS Stack.

For whatever reason the MX900 is not listed here. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...categoryid=413

I don’t use the charging base/receiver with the MX900. I use my lappy's built in bluetooth adapter.

Edit: Well, it seems there are two product pages. I believe the link you gave is the outdated one, because it does not have the newer mice(if you go back a level to “cordless mice”). I also noticed there is no “buy it now” or “notify me” for the MX900.

Mx 1000

I'm using the Logitech MX3000 wireless keyboard/mouse setup. So far, so good. As far as I know, the mouse included with this set is the MX1000. I have used several wireless/optical mice over the years and this is the best so far!

If that is arrogance then you are calling the opinion of almost every large, reputable online source arrogant. The mouse has be a critical disaster due to its horrible stand-by setting. It may be good for you, but calling my opnion arrogant is arrogant.

I'm using this IBM mouse. It is great but somtimes Windows does not detect it (unplug it and plug it back in and it's fine.)

standard logitech white optical mouse. yes, i do game, but i have no money to spend 50 bucks on mouses. and plus, i havent used anything other than the 'standard' mices, so i dont really have anythin that i'm dying to have. I'll probably stick with the normal mouse for quite a while...at least...until i get a job(if i get a job)
