Just got a D810, tweak it for gaming??

I just got issued a spanking new D810 at my job....
1.73Ghz
1GB
128MB Radeon x600
60GB 7200RPM Hitatchi
Sony 8X DVD+-RW

I was just getting ready to plunk a big chunk of change down an Acer Travelmate 8104 too, guess I don't have too now...

Need some suggestions for tweaking and drivers on a D810..

Mostly Counter Strike and Forgotten Hope for BF1942.

I setup a seperate 17GB partiton and plan to dual boot it for gaming, (yes, my Boss okayed it, as long as he doesn't see me gaming in the office..) I want to dual boot because all of the work stuff I have just soaks up resources, I have all the tools I need for work, like VS.net, Sql Server 2000 Developer, etc so it will suck..

So my plan is to boot XP Pro from the gaming partition
I will tweak the heck out of XP, disable servives, etc, etc, etc.. might even give GameXP a try.

outside of tweaking XP what else should I do?? When I had my Acer 1681WLMi I used to use the Omega drivers with pretty good results, anyone use them on the D810??

I have never used the DHzer0point Drivers, are they better than the Omegas??

What else Can/should I do to get the most out of the D810?? Anything out there that gets the x600 running like an x700? Firmware??

Thanks.

I don't know enough about it but someone will post back sooner or later.

One of my guys at work just bought a dell 810, and he has overclocked the gfx to 500 odd mhz, no joke. so that will be your biggest imporvement.

Game XP is the worst thing anyone has ever created to tweak settings, I tryed it on my computer and it actually slowed everything down, the boot times when from 1 min to just a little under 4.. Mind you i have alot of crap on my PC

Thanks for the heads up on GameXP. I'll tweak it manually then. Looks like new Omega Drivers just came out. I am going to give those a shot as well.

Finally got around to getting it all setup and done.

installed XP on a seperate partition, did all the XP tweaking and service disabling, installed the latest omega drivers.

The GPU clocks stable to 501 and the RAM to 321. bought an MX518 mouse and a Nostromo n52 and played a couple hours of BF1942 last night.

I have the card set for 4x AA 16X AS nad have bf1942 set for 1280 x 800 at max graphics settings. I get between 65-50 FPS while playing. Plays sweet and looks awsome.

Works great.
