Video Card Compatibility

Thread Starter
I just got a Dell Inspiron 6000. I am happy with the video card (128mb ATI x300) but I would still like to upgrade it. How do I know what cards are compatible?

Is the video card in the i6000 upgradeable?
No its not. I think he means upgrading the drivers for the card not a new card.

No, his post sounds like he's talking about upgrading the card. Most people probably don't realize the GPU is permanently attached to the motherboard in a laptop.

Sorry kid, no upgrade possible.

Yes, actually the video card can be removed but dell has to release a new one specifically for that model.

You actually have the 6000D which has a removable graphics card. Its unlikely dell will release a new card for the i6000D but you never know with dell.

Sorry, right now, Dell has no upgrade out for the 6000, at least, not one better than the 128MB x300. Sorry.
