Hi

Does anyone know, if Alienware plan on selling the Area-51m Sentia with a GeForce or ATI Graphics card?

No they have no plans of offering anything on those machines. They are not listed as "Gaming Machines"...they are labeled "Thin and Light" and thats all they are. Do not look at the Sentias as gaming machines. They were designed to be an option for someone looking for a good internet/word processor for college/business applications. Nothing more.

ps
Ya, it would be nice to see a Sentia that could at least play Quake3 at a decent Res.

Yeah it's a real bummer because I wanted to get the Sentia at one point. It seems to offer nothing above the rest except looks and an incredible price tag. I would seriously like someone to tell me why it is so incredibly expensive?

These two are the same as the basic sentia except as noted

Dell 600M with 384mb ram, and dvd/cdrw burner, ATI 32mb=$1300 (free shipping+rebate)

Sager NP3750-C offers 15.4in screen, 512mb, free carrying case, dvd/cdrw burner=$1500 and you can get free shipping off of a different site

Sentia Performance-$1650 (with shipping and $100 rebate included)

Considering the Dell's hardware you are paying $400+ more for the sentia and $200+ in the Sager's case

Sentia sounds a lot like Centrino.

only thing holding sentia back is gfx card, just ask a voodoo m400 owner, sentia w/ a gfx card will rock!

Apples and oranges... You are all over the chart with your comparison.

Went to Dell's site and changed the 600m display to the SXGA, hd to 40 gig, 1x512 RAM, and it came out a little more than the cost of my Sentia. Despite what other say about the Intel Extreme graphics, I'm sure everyone here would agree that between the ATI 32 MB and he Intel Extreme 2 64 MB- I choose the Intel in this case. Apples and oranges. But this is your product comparison I am responding to.

Dell is known to offer some $400 computer on their ads. But do you want that computer in the ad? Click on the CUSTOMIZE IT link to put together a fair "SPECS" comparison. I did when I was shopping, and decided on the Sentia.

Alienware made choosing the computer easy by not baiting me along with a $400 computer. I should add this to my review.

Exactly. I had been looking at Dell notebooks for a long time. I just went to their website and priced out a 600m with the same specs as my Sentia, and it came out to $2,794. For the extra $202, I'll go with the Alienware. It looks better and is a lot more durable than Dell.
