HI!
Has anyone got / tried the: HP Pavilion zv6115EA laptop?
I'm pondering buying it...and was just wondering what people might have thought about that laptop?
---
It's actually one of many that I'm considering buying, but it's currently top on my list.
I've been searching around for laptops that would fit my budget of £600 and after picking out the ones with minimum specs of 60GB HDD and 512MB ram, I've come to the following few choices, which I'm having trouble deciding between, not least because processors confuse me a lot.
The laptops / notebooks / leg-warmers that I'm looking at currently are:
HP: http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/572_267104.html [http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/ie/en...53921673.html]
[Processor speed: 1.80 GHz / 3000+
Processor: AMD Sempron
Screen size: 15.4" WideBrightview
Storage: 60 GB
RAM: 512 Mb
Records DVDs: 16x (+&-) ]
Acer ASPIRE 1691: http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/572_263974.html
[Processor speed: 1.50 (725) GHz
Processor: Intel Pentium M
Screen size: 15.4" wideglare
Storage: 60 GB
RAM: 512 Mb
Records DVDs: 8x ]
[Oh, the lack of ethernet card here, I've heard, is a typo, but I shall check that up, obviously!]

ACER:
Aspire 3613WLMi - 549 quid.
Intel Celeron M 370 (1.5GHz, 400Mhz FSB, 1Mb L2 Cache), Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition, 512MB DDR2 400 RAM, 80GB HDD, DVD-Dual double layer optical drive, 15.4"WXGA TFT Display with Acer CrystalBrite, 128MB shared Graphics Memory, Wired & 802.11g Wireless LAN, 4 cell Li-Ion Battery, Acer GridVista, Acer Arcade, Acer eManager
[ESO's question: Is this better or worse than a Sempron 3000+? ]
---
Aspire 3003LMi - 529 quid.
AMD Sempron 3000+ (25W), Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition, 512MB (2*256) RAM, 80GB HDD, DVD-Dual Double Layer Drive, 64MB Shared VGA, 15" XGA TFT Display, Modem, LAN, 802.11g WLAN, MS-Works
[This does also have a: 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet, btw. This one also has SIS graphics, which seems bad according to a friend.]
---
Aspire 5001WLMi - 579 quid.
AMD Turion ML28 (1.6GHz, 512KB, 400MHz, 35W), Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition, 512MB RAM, 60GB HDD, DVD-Dual RW double layer, 15.4" WXGA TFT Display, 64MB shared SIS graphics, LiIon battery, 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11g WLAN, Acer Arcade - [A friend told me that this wasn't...that good due to the SIS graphics, it seems.]
--
To re-iterate, I don't intend to play games on the laptop, rather it is for word processing, Internet, MSN, DVD watching, and, erm, that's about it, so I don't think the graphics card is critical as such.
My main source of confusion is over the processors and their FSBs / L2 Caches, and I'd be most grateful if someone could just...explain how the various processors outlined here rank against one another.
Currently, I'm leaning towards the HP, though I'm not entirely sure. What you do chaps think, please?
Cheers.
Many thanks.
Ohm.
