Well like i had promised most of you here is my review of my Aurora ALX system that i have to say is one bad mofo. Below you will find my review with thanks again to the nootbook forums community for your helpful thoughts in my config process.
Ordering; The ordering process was very easy to use as AW has there web site filled with plenty of information on anything they sell. AW config page for my ALX was visited almost every day to go over in my mind what i wanted on that particular day. The config page gets a big thumbs up as it helps average gamers like me to really work out any kinks in my mind when ordering. After about a week of trying to decide i came to you forum gamers to get some feedback on certain things which was taken to heart and put in to play on my system. The day had come and i had made my final decisions on what to go forward with and placed my order via web page, the web page was not the best of choice but was easy to do as i think for any of you that would take my advice i would place a order with a ALX sales team member instead of the web page as i think it will make the process quicker, at least in my mind. But overall the ordering of my machine was very easy a big score of 9.5 out of 10
Phase game; The Phase game is one that needs alot of patients as when placing my order via web page on a sat. Aug 13th i did not hear a reply until mon the 15th with AW sending a e-mail of my order, and then and only then did my phase game start. I had received a estimated ship date of sept 5 and for you out there that has yet to place a order let me save you some stress, this is a estimated ship date only nothing set in stone for some of you will get it on time for most it wont happen so don’t save your breath and in this saying be patient as they say it is worth the wait.. And knowing that the phase Game was a long process they do keep ya up to date via e-mail as my ship date was on sept 15th and my ALX in hands on the 19th. But over all stress aside the Phase game does keep you up to date but if you have no patients as i did not at times dont buy a AW as perfection does take time. Another tip is ask your rep for updates as the web page for your phase is not always right and seems to be a day behind at time. With a score of 8.2 out of 10
Customer Service:Aw prides itself with great customer service, but do they got it is the question. In my experience they have outstanding skills in making sure the customer is at ease with everything you ask them. Every time i had called about my system they where there to let me know where my system was at that time with a quick response and no waiting. My ALX rep was "eddy" and he handled my questions with ALX pride even if at times i would call every couple of days he would gladly help at all times. When times did get rough with my unexpected delays I got a e-mail from a Juan which was a forums administrator that had say my posts of my delay and gladly keep upto date with me on a daily basis for the last 2 weeks of my system, talk about great service. As i had some issues with hooking up my monitor and a couple of other issues the ALX 24/7 team was quick and to the point with holding times on getting to them where about 20 seconds lol. Overall the customer service is outstanding and AW leads the pack on this one with a score 0f 9.8 out of 10
Packaging: Wow the packaging is the best it can be as 2 boxes 1 at 15lbs and the other at 70lbs was packages with care and great placement of materials. Not much more to say but the comp was in the first box with my ALX goodies on top level and the second box contained cords and software. A packaging score of 10 out of 10 GOOD JOB AW
Initial Impressions:Like i have read on these forums, i have heard many of time the same as mine is holly cow look how big my rig is, it was like a skyscraper compared to what i was thinking. The black rig was to a high polish and looked so good i fainted on the floor to the site of her. The picking up of my machine was kind of the down part as the plastic case to me is a little fragile and made me nervous to touch it. After looking over my shipping invoice to make sure everything was in order i checked out the inside or at least tried to as i could not get the side door to open to check what was running the beast , looked over instructions and could not figure it out so a quick call to the ALX team and they told me there are 2 screws on back panel that you have to unscrew before going through the process so keep in mind of all that is new take screws out first before trying to open side panel( would be good to put info of that AW) After figuring out that i checked everything and looked at it in amazement of the quality everything was placed in there so neat and tidy. So i decided to power up the machine to hear that it was as quite as a hummingbird and purred like a kitten. I had got a message saying that my video card was not getting power to the sentinel and was powering down to min. Another call lead me to a power cable on one of the video cards that was not plugged in. Over all the ease of use for the first time was a dream and a score of 9.2 out of 10
Benchmarks; 3DMark05 was run on out of box
1280x720: 4x anti aliasing 11019
1028x768: 4x anti aliasing 11752
More to come
Performance; The comp is just as plain as saying this is on bad mofo and the looks say it all.It runs like a dream machine and plays the games i install with ease and the cooling is just that plain cool for anything i throw at it. As I have not run all test but for what its worth performance is top notch should I say more than ALX SYSTEM Score of 9.5 out of 10
Conclusion; This system took some time to build but as mentioned the wait was worth it the straight performance and the stunning looks could make any gamer happy as if it was Christmas. I would do it all again if i had a chance and my head says it is almost time to buy a lappy. the ease of ordering the great service the choice of packaging detail the price is a little high but worth it as some will argue but the perks are there to support your needs and beyond. AW has the product and continues to make service #1 to the customer so my conclusion is a hella of a ride and loved every bit of it Happy to say thanks again and thanks AW for one hell of a machine. A final score of 9.3 out of 10
Happy gaming,
