My uncle has a IBM X30 laptop and he is planning to get a new HD soon because the one he has right now seems to be gradually dieing.
The problem is, IBM didn't give him a recovery CD and for one he would have to pay which btw.. isn't cheap.
He knows he may just install XP Pro on the new HD once he gets it; however, he would like the recovery still to restore it or at least have the original.
I think IBM is cheap on this factor where they don't give you a recovery CD but instead on the HD (partition).
Our question is... does anyone know how if possible, we can retrieve the recovery partition or image and put it on a CD (DIY Recovery CD) without having to go buy one that is pricey?
IF so... how or perhaps a download site for this already?
Thanks!
