Man, I can't wait 'till christmas time rolls around, i'll actually have a purpose for the darn lights.
I don't know why you keep thinking that the Ultra overheats all the time, it doesn't... well my OCed ultra doesn't. I guess i'm doing something wrong, the darned thing won't overheat!
Groove, I'm not trying to be rude to you or anything, but when you come in here making fun of a feature that the XPS has.... (which is very minimal might I add) you leave yourself open to negative reps and then the bashing/hostility occurs.
This thread was about if the 9300 will get this card. I'm pretty sure that it will not since the 9300 will need more then just the video card. It's going to require some XPS parts in order to work. Aruge my statement if you want, I don't care, i'm pretty sure the 7800GTX will have the same power requirements of the 6800GO ultra. I know it's hard to fathom that since NVIDIA said 'same power, twice the performance' with the 6800Go in comparison but they really ment the 6800Go Ultra
In the case for the 9100/XPS, the mobilty 9800 was not a power hog compared to the mobility 9700. So in theory the upgrade for 9100 owners was more hopeful. Dell still made a bad choice in offering that card for both PC's, but what are ya gonna do now? I think we should see what happeneds in the next few weeks... then we can start the I TOLD YOU SO threads
In the mean time there is a certian 6800 go Ultra up on ebay for sale....
I may have an acerbic sense of humor on here, but it's all in good fun I assure you. I simply like to argue for arguments sake. Yes, I've been getting negative rep points from all of you sensitive XPS2 owners, but in general the 9300 users are equilibrating the damage.
We'll know soon enough who was right and who was wrong. I'll admit though, if I'm right, I intend to rub it in.
Enjoy that melting Christmas tree.
