I mean, cmon. its a freaking laptop. Not a desktop. And most people that do video/music editing or even cad design MIGHT NOT BE a technical repair person. Seems that it takes one being that sort of person to even "OWN" an alienware. I mean i'm a techie, but i'd STILL hesitate to freakin open up ANY of my laptops (especially if it would possibly negate my warranty) to put on thermal paste, or reseat this or that. I'd rather not have a $3500 paperweight, and that goes for all the laptops i own or have owned, from whatever vendor. NEver owned an alienware, but have owned a couple Sagers. 4750 was the last one. Anyhow...
Hmm.. reminds me of the argument about linux being un-user-friendly to regular peeps. This is perfectly true. At least linux is working on it....
hmmm guess my post got deleted, oh well, hopefully he saw it first.
I had a video card go up after 3 months. not because i got a bad video card to begin with, or i didnt clean the fans. its ati's fault when a card craps out that soon. I had no idea what i was doing when they said we''ll send you a new card overnight, but when i got the card an called tech support to walk me through it they made it so simple my 9 year old cousin could have done it. Remember you payed for the tech support in your warranty, use it. with all the threads about depot in this section you should have done your research and seen that depot takes a while. obviously you didnt which is why youre bitching now. sorry to sound like an asshole but it just doesnt make any sense to me. and i KNOW tech support outlined his options to him becuas when they were talking to me my phone died and i had to call back and it was almost a scripted response at how close the two discussions were.
and in my previous thread i wasnt saying people should know a ton about computers to own an alienware, i was poking fun at him calling him an idiot and assuming he wouldnt be using it for anything productive. obviously i didnt word it right and you missed that, i was having a bad day that day, so sorry about my previous post, but i stand 100% by what i said in the first paragraph of this post.
