What Game Are You Playing?

Hello. Not sure if this is appropriate for the board or not, but i was just curious as to what games people are playing on thier laptops and how they look. I'm not the biggest PC gamer and i did not even get the Area51m for gaming specifically... but i play a bit here and there and it's great with this much power.

Right now, i'm playing a game from a couple years ago: Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. I really wanted to play a FPS, and i already had this one but never finished it. I'm so impressed with how it looks and runs on my new Area51m. I've got it set at 1600x1200 and everything MAX! Looks so good. On my old laptop (Compaq Presario 2700, yeah yeah) i had to run it at the extreme opposite end of the spectrum. Oh, for some reason, volumetric shadows mess up so i just have simple shadows on. Seems to be no big deal.

I bought Knights of the Old Republic last week, but it does not run as nicely and i keep dying at the first Rancor Monster so i figued it was time for a kick arse First Person Shooter instead. I'm just really impressed by how it looks with the highest settings all around, even for a 2 year old game. I might even pull Half Life out to see that full blown.

You guys playing any games on your laptops these days?

I've heard the KOTOR patch recently released works wonders on game peformance on ATI cards. You'd be wise to investigate it. Knights of the Old Repoublic (KOTOR) is an excellent game but until you get off of Taris it's quite slow.

Right now I'm into Metal of Honor Breakthrough and Everquest. Both games are incredible. I'm also using Photoshop and the detail is awesome compared to my old 17" monitor.

For me, the games I'm currently playing are C&C Generals: Zero Hour, Max Payne 2, Call of Duty Demo (hmm, maybe I should buy the game), and GTA: Vice City (still love it).

GTA: vice sity - Great with psx pad
Jedi Knight 2 - Light saber dules rule!
Counter strike - Graphics suck good game though
Battlefeild 1942 - fun multiplayer
Americas Army - It was free what can i say
PAC-MAN - Hey nothing like old school fun!

just vice city, the game never gets old. but i plan on getting more into the gaming scene once i get the 8790. i'll be buying things like halo and half life and other popular games

have you had some stability issues with CoD and Max Payne 2?
Both run excellent! They aer just demos but run just fine as far as I can tell i run them at 1152 * 864 to be safe.

it installs fine, but I can't get it to start. it loads the splash screen, then it goes back to windows. ive tried different reoslutions as well, and also cleaned out my system tray and background applications.

i am running the OMEGA drivers...

I just installed B&W again this weekend for a trip down memory lane, I also had the same problem. First you need yo get the latest BW patch from the internet. You can get it from "Infrogrames" website.

Or you can adjsut the properties of the icon to run in "Windows 98 mode" for just this game.
