*NEW* Dell official 6800 Go drivers (09/14 '05)

Thread Starter
Yup; I don't know if this has already been posted (two search queries seemed to come up empty), but Dell has posted new official drivers as of September 14th, 2005, for the i9300's Geforce Go 6800. They are the 78.11 drivers.

You guys can go check if the XPS2 has new drivers for the Geforce Go 6800 Ultra, too.

Happy downloading!

My 3DMark05 scores went up by one point (5308 to 5309) compared to the previous Dell driver.
XPS Gen 2 stock (no overclocking). Vsync off & performance slider all the way to the left.
XPS2 PM2.0Ghz, 1GB, Hitachi 80GB 7.2Krpm, Sony D56A, Intel 2915 Wifi, Bluetooth
GPU temp right after 3DMARK05 run was 71
3DMark05 score @ 1920X1200, 2XAA, 4XAF was 2600+(can't remember exactly)

So essentially, nothing.

I've run 3DMark05 over and over(not back to back) enough to know there's about a 10-20 point variance.

People need to start running it a few times and averaging it.

Well Dell Releases a driver unless they state performance increase then your maily expecting feature enhancements/ compatibility fix's/ bug fix's.

I haven't noticed any difference in performance while playing (not that I would expect to see any).

I did however find that triple buffering works in these drivers. I enabled it in WoW with older drivers, and the game crashes after a few minutes. With these, it works great, I see a huge difference.

I hope other games add triple buffer support; new games override driver settings, so to enable triple buffering within the NVidia driver panel probably wouldn't do much even if it did "stick." (These drivers have an option for triple buffering, but after you turn it on, it doesn't stay on. As soon as you restart the driver panel, it is off again.)
