Dell Inspiron 8600 Temperature

Thread Starter
I've been worried about my laptop's temperature lately. It seems to feel very hot to the touch. (The area where the hdd is.)

I used a program to find out the temperature. CPU's temp is 145.4 F° and the Hdd's temp is 127.4 F° .

What exactly would be the normal temperature range for my computer assuming that I'm not doing anything? (I'm simply browsing some forums, in IRC and on Aim.) How about during gaming?

well unless you have a "make breakfast" app, your temps are fairly high for what your doing, id run a diagnostic on your fan, and get I8k/i9kfangui and see if that helps, (we usually talk temps in C, and your around 60 with cpu and 50 w/ hd
cpu isnt Terrible, but idling im around 40, and my hd i have a warning pop up if it gets to 50 so with yours @ 52 id check it out
laptop cooler is your freind if the fans check out

Doing what you said (web browsing, IM), my temps are 109F (CPU), 111F (HDD) and 134F (GPU).

I should mention I undervolt using Centrino Hardware Control. Google it and you will see what I am talking about

You may want to check if you have stuff (dust) stuck in your fan vents; that'll trap heat and add to heat build-up in a jiffy.
