Gateway M675 review and banchmarks - Page 12

Guys, I must say that it's been a great year, but I'm now selling my M675 and going with an HP ZD8000 Custom Built unit. I was actually waiting on the replacement to the M675 which is the M680, but in talking to Gateway sales, they just weren't convincing me on why I should stick with them. Plus, a lot of what made me go with Gateway in the first place (2nd modular bay for floppy/2nd hard disk/additional battery/card reader, modular optical drive bay, and media controls on the front of the unit) are all missing on the M680. On the positive side, you do wind up with around 4.5 hours of battery life from what I understand, so that's a huge bonus.

Hopefully, someone will upgrade to one so that we'll get a decent review. Otherwise, I'm waiting on my HP and am bidding you all a fond farewell.

(Now just to find a buyer for my M675.......!!)

I know this is an old topic but just wanted to say that I have a M675 that I received on 2-28-03. Besides the touchpad going out, the labtop still works great. It has more than paid for itself.

Have you blown out the fans lately? I know mine needs to be blown out about once or twice a month. It moves so much air and it finds all the dust in the room.
