Amilo Hard Disk Question

Thread Starter
Hi folks, i use a Amilo M 2GHZ 760 Series with 1GB of RAM and 1 80 gig Hard Disk.

The manual states that you can add an extra hard disk to the laptop, but i have removed the back (larger cover) and while there is a gap,

1 it doesnt look big enough (due to express card slot)
2 there doesnt appear to be any HD connectors.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi J, I guess you have the Amilo m3438/m4438?

If you do, then yes you can have two HDs inside it (even in Raid 0/1 config if desired).

I had the two disks already pre-installed so I can't offer advice about installing them.

for the 3438 its possible to install a 2nd harddisk. the only problem is, that you have to buy all the wires and srews you'll need!

Anyone who knows where to get the parts (the hdd module, second hdd cable and hdd transfer board 4+3 screws). I have the installation guidelines from Fujitsu for installing CPU/RAM/HDD/2ndHDD and it looks very easy. I have purchased a extra hd. Now I need the connecting parts. Anyone?

You need the spare parts from a Fujitsu repair agent, the connector is located near the wifi unit, but you need the board to plug into it, which is the spare part.

I spoken with official SAT of Fujitsu Siemens in Spain, and they does not take responsibility...

they have given me only the telephon number of several official Technical Support... but they do not know the solution either...

But I have the telephone number from a oficial supplier of parts of F-S.

So, I need to know the name of the parts and the "how-to" or guidelines instalations for make myself ....

Thanks...

P.D. sorry for my "googleenglish"
