9860 Upgrades.

Hola,
I hope that this is the right place for this post, if it is not I apologize ahead of time.

I am wanting to upgrade my sager 9860 and had a couple of questions
1. What harddrive do you all recommend. I am in need of additional space, so I want to get a new harddrive to be used with my current one (I think I read somewhere that I do not need additional hardware to do this, but if someone could confirm that for me I would appreciate it).

2. What is the best/newest/maxed out processor I can put in this. I thought I read some time ago that the 9860 would be compatible with an Intel 64, but I have not been keeping up with all of the new computer hardware, especially processors.

Thanks

Hey there... Yes this is the right place for these questions. First off what type of HD setup do you have, ATA or SATA? If you have SATA there are several large HD's you can use upto 120GB. The fastest processor the 9860 can handle is the 3.8gh P4 (J670) which is the newer 64 bit 2M cache P4 chip... Here's a link to the hd http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_a..._p=0&x=44&y=14

to handle this chip do we need the new mobo revision?

I don't think so... I think the mobo revision is needed if you want the gf 6800 ultra vid card.

Ok stormie those drives are still a ways off, and I thought it was Toshiba that was working on those (perpendicular storage that is)
