Anyone know how to turn on the infared port on an M3438G ?

bios update

you have to update your bios to 1.06rc (only beta) which allows you to turn of the infrared port!

plz dont forget, that under some special circumstances your
warranty can get lost, when updating bios!

i dont know how fujitsu handles it...but on my first notebook i lost warranty for updating bios!
