how long does it take to build and ship a laptop?

first off...

WOHOOOO i just ordered a 700m =]
1.8Ghz 256RAM DVD-RW 80Gig HD =] =]

i'm pretty happy about it, planning on getting a gig at newegg. the only reason i upgraded from 1.7 to 1.8 was to take advantage of the %% off coupon since their coupons suck now. No more 750 off 1500 =[ so i used the 35% and only got a little under $600 off... which is still pretty good but i wouldnt mind the $150 in my pocket..

anyways, i ordered it on wednesday and it's still in the confirmation stage (i think that's what its called) hasn't started being built yet or anything. Just wonder how long it took you guys to get your laptops after you ordered it.

thanks in advance

Mine took well over a month. That's what happens when you don't notice the small "may delay ship date" tag next to the 100GB 7200rpm hard drive. Oh well, it was worth it in the end . I wouldn't worry about it. The majority of laptops ordered from Dell arrive on or before the day they are expected to ship (note that this is well before the date they are expected to arrive). Enjoy the new lappy.

I got my 9300 (since gone) in 7 days (?) after the rep put in the request for it! They usually pad their estimates somewhat so your laptop will probably arrive before the estimated day.
