What web browsers do you folks use and suggest? - Page 3

I used Firefox almost 100% before, but I was urged to try out Opera, which I really liked, especially the single window browsing and mouse gestures. But Opera had some trouble with some sites which I needed to use (university stuff mostly) and no Adblock type extension.

Then I found out that by using Firefox 1.5beta and some extensions, I could get the same thing as Opera, but with Adblock and better page compatibility. So I'm back to firefox.

Firefox. A year or more ago i would of said IE, but firefox is the best there is. Tons of plugins, super fast, way easy to say cookies and bookmarks (hell it saves em all to a html file ) and lots of addons. I love it

Prolly the thing i love most about it is the search engine bar. It comes with google and yahoo and such but i love that you can add to it with all kinds of sites.. its great.

I use it on my lappy and my desktop. IE was suddenly put years behind when this browser was released. I dont reccomend anything else ( and my mom works for microsoft lololol).

Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1. A couple of bugs, but nothing that serious and nothing that won't be fixed before it is released. Tabbed browsing, loads quickly. Still no download manager though.

Firefox and IE give me all that I need. I never had a problem running IE anyway.

Not to be pissy, but what does your thread cover that this doesn't or couldn't?

So it is over 99% Firefox for me

Did try Netscape long ago, nix to that.

I don't even use IE for Hotmail. I used to use MSN Messenger, and when I would press the mail button it would automatically pop up IE. I no longer use that, though, so my need for IE has completely disappeared. Now I'm 100% Firefox.

Now, can someone explain these add-ons hat Firefox has? Do people use them, and if so, what do you recommend? Any helpful links?

I personally use Adblock, All in One Sidebar, Mouse Gestures and Session Saver.

Adblock, well blocks ads. All in one sidebar adds an Opera-esque sidebar that simplifies navigation. Mouse Gestures gives you the Opera mouse gestures, if you configure it properly. Session Saver lets you close Firefox and reopens all the pages when you start it again.
