Waiting for EX7

Thread Starter
Got an email from Hypersonic today. My EX7 was supposed to ship today, but is delayed because of the 7200 RPM 100GB SATA HD. I am waiting patiently, but with much anticipation. This is my first high end computer purchase, and I am anxious to put it to the test. I've been lurking around here reading the posts from everyone for a few weeks, and overall the opinions I read here helped me choose Hypersonic. That, and the wider selection of components, memory and configurations they offer. Thanks to everyone who posted an opinion or review, whether good or bad.

I think the problem you are seeing with the hard drive is being felt industry wide, or atleast I have seen those buying other systems trying to get the new, bigger, 7200rpm drives on a waiting list as well. Definitely sucks. The manufacturers probably didn't realize the amount of interest in these drives as the supply and demand seems a bit whacked.

Good luck on the system and looking forward to seeing pics and the review. Also looking to see what you think about the MCE card and OS.

I figured it would take longer, but I have researched and saved for almost a year, so I can wait a little longer to get what I want. My only other computer was a Compaq Presario 1215 I bought in 2000, so I am looking forward to being blown away by the EX7.
Good luck with your search for your missing EX7 Ratmyr.

I know what you are talking about concerning the difference in systems. I have an HP ZE2115 that I picked up for $800 to make this PCS move back to the states while my system was being upgraded. The plan was that I can still do forums and email, but after the upgrade, this would go to my son..... just didn't work out that way. But I do miss the power of the EX7 - and the screen.

One note - I too plan on doing the 7200 wait when I order the next one. The main reason with going with my last set of drives was for SATA. I didn't notice much difference, so I am thinking PATA with 7200s this time. Why? If I have to replace one - I have PATA enclosures I can use for the old drive. I have yet to find a SATA enclosure.

Thanks for the wishes as well.

May I ask, why would you want 4 gig RAM?
Also, are there PC4200 DDR2 533s available on the EX7 systems??? I don't see on the config page or is this something done between the salesmen?
