voodoo, alienware, sager or hypersonic

Hi everyone,

I have a budget of 3500-4500 on a high resolution notebook. I will mostly use it for photoshop, some video editing, and gaming, something about 15".
I had a sony TR3 right now, it's really slow with photoshop CS2, almost impossible, and the screen is way too small for my usage now.
So I did some resarch on voodoo, alienware, sager and hypersonic notebooks.
The most important for me now is the resolution, I would like at least 1600 X1200 +, the screen ratio doesnot matter to me.
I also really really fall in love with sony's notebook display screen(XBrite), it's shining and you could see the reflection on it.

My number one question to these notebook owner is: What kind of screen display do those notebook(voodoo, alienware, sager or hypersonic) has? Is it like sony's reflective shining screen or just regular non-reflection gray-ish display? cause I try to find review on the web, I cannot find such info.

Please post a close up photo of your screen if you could, Thank you sooo soo much!

Any other great notebook recommendation is welcome too!

They all use the glossy display, same as Sony. Some of them may offer a nonglossy, but it'll pretty much tell you when you configure one.

You really don't need to pay that much for a high-end machine. Depending on what you're looking for, the Asus A70va, Dell 9300, Dell XPS, or Acer Ferrari are much, much more reasonably priced, and damn high-end.

Thanks for everyone's input,
now I think I want the voodoopc notebook envy u:522 which has 15.1" Wide Angle TFT UXGA 1600X1200 LCD ,

That's all it says on the configuration, is there one know if thats a glossy screen?

Thank you so much again

Here is the thing.

1) Voodoo: for the love of god, why would you pay 2x the price of what its worth? When i bought my uniwill last summer from ibuypower i paid a hair over $1500, in the same config voodoo would charge me near $4000 and it wouldn't be much better

2) Alienware, although more reasonably priced than voodoo, its still pushing it, they are also quite slow to ship and usually not worth the extra price

3) sager. reasonable if you watch where you buy it from, pc-torque is a good place to start

4)hypersonic, reletively reasonably priced and service is also reletively fast, might be worth checking out

bottom line, there are other stores that will sell you the same or better hardware for a lesser sticker price

I agree, hypersonic offers most of the same computers as falcon-nw, voodoo, alienware, etc with great warantee's and dead pixel guarantees for alot less. I was very happy with my CX-5, and easily could have spent another 1000 on it if I got it somewhere else.
