dead pixels

I just got my t43 last night. I noticed there are 2 dead pixels right in my line of sight. I'm going to call them monday and setup an rma to send it back.

My question is how likely would another laptop i ordered have a dead pixel. I saw their dead pixel policy is 11 dead pixels for the 1400x1050.

This is an interesting issue. When I purchase something brand spanking new, I expect it to work, you know, 100%. I have read a couple of places where laptops are not expected to have 100% pixels working and that like IBM, there is a set number that might be dead for it to be considered an issue. With that in mind, see if they will take it back, but there seems like a good chance that you might go around and around with this. I think it sucks:-)

I've noticed with my thinkpad that a pixel turns white every week or so and requires a restart for it to disappear. I have a T30, which is 3 years old, and all this could be normal for a machine its age.

I am appalled that a new T43 would have such a problem. Could this be due to Lenovo cutting corners in manufacturing?
