It's a love-it-or-hate-it design.
Personally, I think any bit of flare that separates it from the average laptop is worth it.
Are you located in the the Bay Area (California) by any chance? I'd rather meet in person instead of having to ship my laptop. [If I did have you do a paint job on it.]

Not a fan of this. The paint is not good enough to pull off the effect. And if that was to be realistic why wouldn't the dell logo in the middle be affected?
