Features of the site.

- Some good, fast and efficient way to upload multiple pictures instead of one by one. Maybe also the ability to upload complete folders themselves.
(Some plugin or app.. from what I guess)
- Not as many limitations on:
Number of albums
Number of pictures
Picture sizes
Picture quality / resolution (does not show lowQ images like yahoo photos)
- Hierarchical Album Folders if possible.

Ability to have private, public albums and also invite people by e-mail addresses etc. Some access control.

(free ofcourse)

(Last item ...super low priority.. maybe has good/cheap print & mail facilities)

sony imagestation

I use sony imagstation ( www.imagestation.com ) for its excellent print quality. However the site's software sux big time

Good:
Print quality!
Free unlimited storage (for basic subscription)
Allows album creation and email invites

Bad:
Very slow upload
Full resolution preview only with upgraded ($$) membership (though I got it free for several months for some reason)
No hierachal folders

Take a look at Flickr. You can use the free version and see if you like it or not.

Try smugmug

Crashnburn,

Try smugmug.com
They have a free trial and have all the features you're looking for, except that there's an annual fee. I think it's 30 bucks. But for me that was well worth it, since I have about 9000 pictures online and I didn't like the way that most sites display images

- You can upload an unlimited number of pictures and the upload can be done via drag and drop via explorer
- Each upload can be up to 100Mb at a time and it's pretty quick
- Images can be viewed at full resolution (my favorite feature)
- Images can be shared without others having to sign in. You can just provide a link and continually add galleries to this link i.e seperate links for family, business, special occasions etc
- Nice layout i.e the way that the albums are organized
- Support is very good. They respond via email within an hour/two

I don't work for them, but I know a few people who have signed up for a trial and they've stayed

I've tried others in the past i.e imagestation, pbase, ofoto, snapfish etc, but they're not really designed to showcase pictures like smugmug

photobucket has what you want. There is a piece of software you can download called photobucket uploder, you can upload whole folders at a time.

No limit on # of albums

There is a mb limit, not sure what it is though, but you can always get another account

Not sure about sizes, I've had pictures there that were around 1000*1500 before

photobucket shows a thumbnail on the album page, and the full size image is a click away.

The albums are hiearchial

you can have guest passwords

and you can order a photocd
