I'm looking for a 15.4 with ALL the goods. But more importantly I demand high build quality.
Never seen a Sager. Thanks a ton.

I wouldn't say sagers are ultra high quality, I would say they are good quality... ultra high performance. Typically you can't have both...

True.

Are the keyboards quiet and firm, not mushy?

I am looking for a kick ass 15.4" with ALL the bells and whistles. I have a Ferrari 4000 but the keyboard is terrible and the fan has quit.

I'm not sure about other Sagers, but my Sager's keyboard is very good and does not feel mushy/clumsy/flimsy. I haven't really come across many Sagers, but I'm guessing all their other laptops have this great quality so I would recommend them.

There's a poll on Notebookforums here that might interest you. It's hardly scientific, but interesting, nevertheless.

Very unscientific! Don't forget that where it says "6 months trouble free" they have had it for six months and not had any problems. It does not mean that they had it for 6 months and then had problems.

I think any poll like this tends to attract people who have problems more than those who have had no problems. I know many, many people who have had no problems, and I haven't seen them enter the poll.

The best way would be to get a list of sager customers and then call a random selection of them up and ask them which computer make they buy, what models they have, wether they have had any problems, and if so what problems they have had and how long they have had it for before the problem occured. This would be very accurate, but you aint going to find it easy to get a list of customers :-)

One of the few high quality laptops you can buy would be a Panasonic Tough Book, but for that price of quality you sacrafice the state of the art technology a Sager can give you.

You can't play a lot games on it, but it can make it through a long drop and can take almost anything you throw its way.

The problem with Polls is you can't weed out fan-boys of other units who would vote poorly for a Sager.

I would say that sager notebooks are of average build quality but with good keyboards. They are not however "well" built. The hinges on mine literally fell apart finally, after having numerous build quality issues. I will have to agree with the prevoius statements that no laptops are really built well, with toughbooks being the only exception. I hope the boutique PC industry grows to the point where they finally start ordering higher quality cases from their ODMs.

the ultra high quality notebooks are from IBM and are expensive.

one thing Sager is not good for is the paint on the lappy. This is my second Sager and again, the paint is fading in some areas (left palm where my hand is resting but also where the GPU is, the black bar where the light are also is fading). But I don't really care since I am more interested by what's inside. The keyboard is okay.
