yeah that crap is garbage. i hate itunes, especially how when unconfigured, it will delete all of you songs if u plug ur ipod into ur pc after ur hdd crashes. so many horror stories...
Wahh?????

Itunes will delete all your songs if you plug your ipod into it after your Hard Drive crashes - is that right...

Ok - Itunes does not delete your songs by default. If you decide to delete them and find that its not easy to get them back off your ipod its your own damn fault. Why would you want to do that, especially if most of your music is digital/from the iTunes store - it could get stolen.

If your Hard Drive crashes - your screwed anyway...

So I don't think I quite follow you here - or was this a bad attempt at sarcasm...

he meant, if you reinstall windows and lose the mp3 files from your computer, when you connect your ipod to it, itunes will kill your collection. that is a very very dumb feature.

for instance, i keep ALL my files on my player, there are 0 mp3s on my computer right now! and i can do that... if i had an ipod, i'd probably lose all my music by now.

Meh, I can't be bothered to have to actually carry a cube :-p I need something I can "slip" somewhere. Total size regardless.

Also if you plug your ipod into a mates machine, when you sync it it'll wipe your ipod also (you have to disable a option somewhere)

Still if someone doesn't back up their music it's their fault..you should be able to smash your ipod and computer HD and not lose any data at all (if you understand my point)
