Has anyone tried to install the 5.9 drivers on F4005?

I'm going to format my pc this week and I need to know if they will work.

Thanks

Will it work on a Acer Ferrari 3400?

At their site, Acer is not in their compatibility list.

Just installed catalyst 5.9 on my Acer 1692.... everything works ok. I just uninstalled old ATI drivers (Acer original drivers), rebooted and installed catalyst. No problem....

To those interested, new catalyst 5.9 now supports many more ATI graphic cards, not just X700 and X800...

Just installed on my F4005 and feels really good in games, compared with 5.8.
I played HL2 several hs with 5.9 (all high) is more smooth.
Particulary with this game, in some parts the game freezes beacouse the HD work. Is this normal???? the HD is too slow???

After have Cat 5.9 installed I tryed to run 3DMark05 but after the first game it crashes and a Windows error message appears.
Can't tell if there is any improvements. Any1 had that problem?

Yes, I have had that problem. If you are undervolting than that is probably why it is stopping the test. It was happening to me and I turned off my RMClock and it ran fine. Hope this helps.

I don't know... I'll try. My RMClock is installed but not running... I'll uninstall and see what happens.
Thanks anyway.

I have a emachine m6809 and I tried the new catalyst 5.9 mobile.. Now I cant set my resolution any higher than 1024x768 (I have a wide screen) I had the old catalyst drivers on here (not sure ver.) I was using the ati mod tool to run the desktop drivers. and I WAS getting great results and could run at a host of resolutions .. But now I am stuck at 1024x768.. I have even went and uninstalled/deleted (C:/ATI) and cleaned my regestry and tried to install old catalyst drivers.. I cant get anything higher than 1024x768 .. Whats the deal ?? I have tried 5.7/5.8/5.9 and the new mobile one.. I did succesfully install the original drivers that came with my laptop and I can achieve high resolutions but I dont wont the old crappy drivers I play Half life 2 and UT2K4 and I run CAD software all day I would like the best drivers I can get.. I did notice that neither Emachines nor Gateway are in the compatability list.. I dont know... HELP ..

It is probably because the drivers that shipped with your system were modded drivers for you specific laptop. If you want I would try the Omega drivers (you can get them at Omegadrivers.net). They are good drivers and come with a tool to let you select from a variety of different resolutions, plus they should increase your performance too.

which one is better for ferrari 4005??

Ransomed. Which driver did you use, did you just use the ones from ATI or do you have to mod them?

Just installed the 5.9 mobility catalysts. Work well so far.

I installed them as well. My only complain with them is that they take up a lot of memory (who the hell needs two instances of the Control Center?)
I installed the 5.9 omega drivers as well.... they work just great: 3DMark2005: 2563

I have a question guys. I might have to send my 8104 to the Acer service center (there are some problems with the screen recently -- there is terrible ghosting at the edges of the screen when the screen changes from white to black). I'm wondering whether I should change back the omega drivers to the stock drivers before I ship the notebook?

I just don't want the Acer guys telling me that my screen is messed up because of the unofficial video drivers? And I just voided my warranty...

What do you guys think?

Use the original driver that came with your book. Catalyst is open for all modells but it`s in the hand of the notebook manufactors to give it free for ya book. So if u get a eror while try to install catalyst to your book, it`s just not certificatet/ supportet from
acer.
