I have windvd 7 platinum and its fine, plays just about any video file. I think though, that they are more or less similar to each other.

Theaterteck is the best I have tried out of them all and it intergrates into MCE

My XPS2 came with a CD for installing CyberLink PowerDVD version 5.3.1012

When I re-formatted the drive, I installed this program last.

The output from PowerDVD seems to be interlaced, is that what you see?
Because of this, I don't want to use PowerDVD. How do I stop PowerDVD from opening and auto-playing a DVD when I put it into the drive and close the tray?

Is the output from WinDVD 7 interlaced (jagged edges) like PowerDVD? I don't want to use any player unless I can be sure that the output doesn't look interlaced.

I'm using Media Player Classic (MPC) because the output does not appear to be interlaced and there are no jaggies. If any of you are using MPC, would you tell me what your MPC Options>Output settings are, and why you're using those settings?

NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder, thank you.

I use WinDVD and I personally think it's the best.

PowerDVD 6...very good. Never checked out WinDVD and frankly I never had the need to check out alternatives...cause it gets the job done really well with really little bit of CPU utilization.

You also have to realize that WinDVD is packaged with more computers for some reason. That being said, I used both extensively and I think both are equally very good, it's just a matter of preference. I use PowerDVD 6. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with either though.

I like winddvd because it let me zoom in and skip those annoying black bars.
I'm not sure if the other players can do this, but i havent seen it otherwise.
I'm using windvd6, i'll take a look at 7

But isn't losing a portion of the movie off either side of the screen more annoying?
