Quickly get the 3yr or even the 2yr warranty before its shipped. You definately want that. Think of it as a free LCD replacement should a pixel go bad in a few years or anything else for that matter.

If you couldnt afford the 3yr at the time of purchase you should have taken less memory or something and then upgraded that down the road. You cant upgrade your warranty after your laptop ships. You cant upgrade your warranty after your laptop ships.

And also get the Alien Adrenaline...having it gives you a Warranty on your GPU that the usual warranty does NOT cover when overclocking hardware. Its worth $30 bux man.

I am against the warranty because most of the time I upgrade every year with a new laptop, so if it doesn't break within a year then I am satisfied. Also, I have a limited budget every year for new stuff and if I went over that budget, the wife would not talk to me for awhile. I cannot afford the warranty, and cannot afford my wife getting upset at me, so i take the lessor of the two evils.

As far as the waiting time. I can wait.

Anybody benchmark the Nvidia and ATI on compariable systems yet? I looked around and saw no side by side AW system spec comparison of these to vid cards. But from what I have read, is that the ATI would blow the Nvidia away. Correct me if I am wrong. I do however own a Radeon 9700 Pro for my desktop and love it.

Well, guess what! Alienware's policy is that you can upgrade the laptop's components WITHOUT voiding the warranty as long as you give their tech support a call prior to the upgrade. So far I've installed my wireless a/b/g card all fine and without voiding the warranty.
