my tecra A4 named luna ^__^

only have it for couple of weeks.. never gave me any issues.... quake3 gave me 180 fps with highest detail (luckily quake3 support widescreen monitor) other games run fine

when i got this baby, the bios version was 1.60, n i found an updated version 1.70 from canada website n updated the bios

except from the toshiba itself.. where the hell is the updated drivers for my laptop...

so far.. i gave it 4, maybe i'l change it to 5 if toshiba updated the drivers page for this baby

*specs is in my sig..

A60 very reliable

15 months.... works great ... almost 16 hours per day on... no less than 50% of the time working... no whistles and fireworks but this is a real workhorse ... thinking at the middle of the year to switch a dual core Tecra... when available...

me too! and once I have some $$ for it. Middle of the year would be the Meron, the dualcore 64bit stuff cpu by intel. If you're just intersted in regular 64bit they should actualy be out shortly in the US.

*edit: in this last part I meant to say "regular 32bit dual core" instead of "regular 64bit" (thanks to Fidget for the correction)

ummmmmm........

yonah is a dual core 32 bit processor and the 64 bit dual core is the merom processor which will be pin compatable with yonah (possibly an upgrade)... that said there are not intel mobile cpu's (centrino systems) with 64bit
post #52 of 76
also look more in the september range for merom to hit assuming they are on schedual

My bad, I had a little brain fart there. I meant to say that yonah is 32bit dual core.

Also the pin to pin compatibility will also depend on the bios from what I've read. Upgrade possibility will depend on whether the laptop manufacturer decides to support it or not.

Well, Toshiba just announced Tecra new line... A6, A7 and M5...why the M series do not come with widescreen LCD? The A7 looks promising... Now time to wait at toshibalatino web site...

Holy cow they are out!!! M5 is non wide . I want a 14" widescreen with a modular OD and real docking station.

Pero en Toshlatino será MUY caro. Mejor comrpar lo en EEUU y traerlo de vuelta, si es una opción.

Had to have mine fixed

A can of canned air fell of a shelf and busted one of the keyboard keys. So I sent it in under warranty... they replaced the keyboard, believe it or not.

I've had my Satellite M65 for about 2 years with no prolems. Just bought an X205-SLi1. Toshiba was great to deal with unlike HP!
