I had a few minor issues with the screen not coming on when resuming from standby, but I must have done something to it because those problems vanished shortly afterwards. It's been rock solid for me since, though the screen seems a tad looser than I would like on the hinge. I give it 4/5.

I had one issue that occurred on my 9300 when I ran windows update and it took ten minutes (I timed it!) to shut down and then almost 8 to reboot. I ran sys restore and all was well.

My problems have all been with Dell Financial and their "crack" people. Between the English problems, they don't have a clue what to do when you get off their little scripts they have. I called to get an invoice when I didn't get one, and it turned into a missing laptop callback! I went around the world on the phone, when I called the first time. India, Panama, back to India, to Texas, to (I think from the accent) The Phillipines, back to India, and finally back to Tx, where I thought it was all settled. Then, the next day, some guy calls, from India, and says "We have investigated and our records show that your laptop was delivered on June the third, and that someone claiming to be you signed for it!" I snorted and nearly choked on my iced tea. I don't know where they came up with the missing laptop nonsense.

They called again from Dell Financial asking if my laptop had been found. Jeez.

And I thought Acer support was goofy.

I had an inspiron 6000. only had it for about two weeks.

i used it very minimally for about 4 days and went to go use it..turned it on and i had that blue error screen.

had to factory reset it.

didnt expect that on a brand new notebook.

i no longer have this computer. sold it 2 weeks after i got it.

still, i would consider purchasing another dell.

5/5

Had my 9300 for 3 months now and I couldn't imagine a day without it. Runs like a freakin' stallion in every game I've thrown at it so far on high settings including Doom 3, BF2, and CS:S. Haven't had a single problem with the computer itself yet.

I LOVE THIS THING!

Bad panel on one but that was replaced the next day so I'm happy.

laptops dont crash, windows crashes. if you have random problems with the computer, that has nothing to do with the hardware. that is just because windows sucks. an unreliable laptop is one that physically breaks and stops working

Apparently, Dell's are pretty reliable.

I've had my i9300 for about a month now and its been flawless.
This is my second dell and I've yet to have a problem with them that wasn't related to me doing so that I shouldn't have

I had cpu/dissipator and vga card changed within guarranty (and within 24 hours after calling for assistance, Dell is *really* reliable in Italy), apart from that my 8600 always ran flawlessy. Never an overheating nor stability or crashing problem. I'm very pleased after 10 months

Absolutely no hardware issues with my i9200. Couldn't be happier.

Still giving me nothing but trouble. Second Hard Drive failure, sent it in once, received it still broken. Horrible so far...
Ya. If anyone looked at the pic I posted above, I've had nothing but trouble. It's pretty much a lemon. Keyboard failures, hard drive, cd drives, monitors, palmrest, monitor encasement, everything but the motherboard. And even that almost had to be replaced.

I am going for my fifth and sixth Dells soon. I've always purchased higher lines like Latitude and Precision.

I briefly owned a Latitude CP then my really first Dell was a C610. It worked flawlessly except for the network connection that went bad, but seems to be a design flaw as many people reports of it. Then a D600 wich worked flawlessly for about 6 months. I've got annother D600 that I know is working perfectly because I sold it to a friend of mine. Then I got my first and second M60 and they work flawlessly too, except that one of them started failing due to bad memory, wich was later fixed easily by replacing the DIMM.

I have also an Inspiron 8600 wich is working flawlessly too. I have to mention that I always purchase second hand machines.

Dell is a trusty brand. The machines feel cheap about the build construction sometimes, but they almost never fail. IBM still keeps the higher reliability rate in my list.
